The folks at Danbury Hackerspace have transformed their techie space into a mini-manufacturing "Hub" to help the men and women on the frontlines battling COVID-19. These local innovators are using PETG Plastic to make hundreds (hopefully thousands) of face shields for local healthcare workers.
"The cost of each sheet of 4’x8′ PETG plastic is $50 and we can make approximately 40 shields from them. We have a small army of volunteers 3D printing the frames, our only cost is the plastic," they explain.
