Schools may be on hold, but Camella’s Cupboard is not.
Camella’s Cupboard is committed to feeding New Milford children and families in need. The organization has adapted their programs through this uncertain time to distribute food while schools are on break, so those children who depend on school lunch will not miss a meal.
The School Break Bag Distribution program offers food bags to any child in need on Fridays, from 5:00-7:00 PM at the back of East St. School. Finishing its third COVID-19 week last Friday, the organization served 315 children and offered families fresh produce and eggs.
The number of children receiving food from Camella’s Cupboard has “nearly tripled” since three weeks ago.
