Community is not Canceled made possible by

Last week, the Ridgefield Police Department announced Pushups for the Pantry, committing to do ten pushups for each donation made to Ridgefield Social Services to support locals who are struggling due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Today, Allison Stockel, the Executive Director of The Ridgefield Playhouse and a true champion of everything local, upped the ante.

Ten pushups? Come on, you're cops! Let's make it 100 in a minute and I'll donate $1,000 in local gift cards to residents in need (you get the gist, right?) Why is Allison doing this? Do you know Allison Stockel? She is dedicated to making small businesses thrive and supporting our community. Here's what she posted tonight on Facebook:

I am working with Ridgefield Social Services and the Ridgefield CT Police Department to help the local restaurants and those in need at the same time. Buy gift certificates from any restaurant and donate them to Ridgefield Social Services by dropping them into a dropbox in front of the police department. They will get handed out to people who are having a hard time making ends meet. It could mean a hot breakfast at Dimitri's Diner for some - dinner from Southwest Cafe for others. In return for making a donation the Ridgefield PD will do push-ups in your honor! I am kicking it off with a bang to get it going!
