Connecticut community members are supporting Norwalk Hospital workers by donating a meal on the “meal train” in partnership with a local restaurant of their choice. Access the Meal Train to support Norwalk Hospital staff HERE.

 Here’s how it works:

The train offers a calendar selection of sign-up spots for which you can volunteer to provide either lunch or dinner to feed a single unit at the hospital (about 20 workers). After making your date and meal-time selection, you can choose a local restaurant or deli to partner with to prepare and deliver the meal at curbside. Make sure the restaurant you coordinate with can prepare 20 individually wrapped meals and deliver them to the hospital.

Genoa Deli in Ridgefield, for example, is scheduled to deliver dinner to a hospital team next Wednesday, April 15, thanks to a donation made via meal train. Several local restaurants and delis have boarded the train, offering discounted prices for donations placed through the program. Visit the meal train’s website for a list of some of these participating businesses.

The meal train is a great way you can connect with friends, neighbors, co-workers, or teammates to provide a meal to our health care workers on the frontlines, while supporting your favorite local restaurant. Check out the calendar to sign-up for an upcoming delivery slot.

Together we can help feed and care for the essential workers who care for our community every day.
